Meeting with the State Commissioner for Counter-Terrorism and Security Matters of China Cheng Guoping

The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon yesterday evening in the Palace of the Nation received the State Commissioner for Counter-Terrorism and Security Matters of the People’s Republic of China, Cheng Guoping.

In an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, President Emomali Rahmon and Chinese State Commissioner discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China and, paying particular attention to regional and International issues of shared interest, in particular in security domain.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon praised the high-level cooperation on strategic partnership between the two countries, which will marks its 25 years in 2017, and noted that Tajikistan and China share traditional and historical relations, which gradually develop in the interests of the countries.

President of the country expressed satisfaction with the mutually beneficial cooperation at the levels encompassing military and military-technical cooperation, protection of the state border of Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as strengthening the country's defense capabilities.

The issues of providing security and stable situation in the region were considered as an important factor for the implementation of more than 200 interstate programs and legal and normative acts.

The two sides exchanged views on further expansion of ties between the two countries and the joint struggle against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.
