This morning, the Founder of Peace and National Unity –the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, HisExcellency Emomali Rahmon congratulated the well-known athlete Dilshod Nazarovon the occasion of his victory in the final round of hammer throw tournamentand winning of a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon emphasized thatDilshod Nazarov, due to earning gold medal at this international contest, has upheldthe honor and dignity of Tajikistan and raised its national flag that is thepride of the noble Tajik people.

According to Dilshod Nazarov, his victory in this greatsporting event was gained thanks to Unity and Independence, and constantsupport and concerns of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency EmomaliRahmon. It is due to the efforts and initiatives of the Head of State EmomaliRahmon that the sports sphere in the republic is developing, and our athletestake part and win distinguished places in different international tournaments.

It should be reminded that the final round of hammerthrow tournament started on 19th of August at 21.05pm, local time, and at5.05am Dushanbe time, at the Olympics Stadium of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.Dilshod Nazarov threw the hammer at a distance of 78,68m and beat hiscontenders.

Dilshod Nazarov is the first Tajik athlete that won aberth for 2016 Summer Olympics of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He took the secondplace at Grand Prix International Tournament on hammer throwing in CzechRepublic, with a result of 79 meters and 36 centimeters, thus clinching Rio deJaneiro Olympic berth.
