President of the Republic of Tajikistan

Beginning of the working visit to Vanj district of Badakhshon Montainous Autonomous Region

25.06.2016 07:49, Vanj district

The working visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Badakhshon Montainous Autonomous Region began in Vanj district today morning.

The Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon was welcomed at the airport by residents with a special warmth and sincerity.

Then, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon got familiarized with the construction of "Motravn" HPP, which has been constructed in the rural community Yazghulom.

This is the first hydroelectric power structure in the country operating in the wastewater. HPP "Motravn" with a capacity of  300 kW / h in  Yazgulom rural community is the second small hydroelectric plant in Vanj district. According to engineers, despite the fact that the HPP does not belong to the category of powerful hydropower plant, its capacity is sufficient to fully meet the needs of residents of a number of villages in rural community Yazgulom in electricity.

It was noted that the construction works at the facility started in 2012 by experts from the Republic of Korea. However, due to the rapid flow of the river Yazghulom, the Korean experts refrained from constructing the hydropower plant. After nearly three years of suspension "Diamant and Kanask" LLC has been entrusted for implementation of this project.

According to experts, the cost of the project amounted to more than 6 million 800 thousand somoni and to date the construction work has been carried out in the amount of 1 million 850 somoni. The project is implemented with funding of "KOICA" of the Republic of Korea and provides for the installation of 3 100 kW units to be delivered in the coming days.

The responsible person for the construction work reported to the President that the hydropower plant will be commissioned before the anniversary of the 25th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
