Reception of credentials from 10 newly appointed ambassadors

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon today received credentials presented by ten newly appointed Ambassadors to Tajikistan at the Palace of the Nation.

The new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors are Elizabeth Inga Millard of the United States, Oleg Ivanov of Belarus, Chary Atayev of Turkmenistan, Ingrid Tersman of Sweden, Andras Baranyi of Hungary, Danai-Magdalene Kumanakou of Greece, Adrian McDade of Ireland, Claudio Raja Gabaglia Lins of Brazil, Haji Mahadi bin Maidin of Brunei Darussalam, and Ouro-Sama Mohamed Saad of the Togolese Republic (Togo).

The Head of state Emomali Rahmon, having congratulated the heads of diplomatic missions for officially assuming their office, said that during the period of independence, Tajikistan chose a balanced, peaceful, well thought-out and comprehensive policy to develop comprehensive international relations with all friendly countries.

Emomali Rahmon spoke about the development of multifaceted relations with the United States, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Sweden, Ireland, Greece, Hungary, Brazil, Brunei, and Togo, and expressed hope that the ambassadors will endeavor to ensure using of unrealized opportunities to bring relations and mutually beneficial cooperation of their countries with Tajikistan to a qualitatively new level.

"The goal of our partnership is to address pressing regional and global issues," - said the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and added that the issues of expansion of bilateral relations are considered to be a relatively new and developing direction in the foreign policy of Tajikistan.
