President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today received the Managing Director for Turkey and Central Asia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Ms. Natalya Khanzhenkova.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Bank.

President Emomali Rahmon thanked the Bank for its continuation of support in various areas of development, especially in the private sector, improving the investment climate, the energy sector development, infrastructure, and commercial banks and calling this meeting an important issue in strengthening of cooperation

The issues of further development of cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, water supply, banking system, implementation of important investment projects, as well as regional character issues were discussed at the meeting.

 As well, the two sides discussed the establishment of regional and international cooperation, taking into account economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development of modern energy.

A constructive discussion took place concerning the participation of the Bank in the implementation of regional infrastructure projects to build roads, railways, power plants, power lines, including power line CASA-1000.
