The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received today morning the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, who arrived in Dushanbe in order to take part at the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council.

A constructive discussion was held on issues of cooperation in the framework of CIS.

Head of State Emomali Rahmon, recalling the negative impact of financial, economic and political crisis in the region and the world, said: "In our opinion, while maintaining multidimensional operation, the CIS should identify as a priority of its activities economic component and security in its area of responsibility. »

Particular attention was paid to the current situation in the north of Afghanistan, its likely impact on the Central Asian region and the southern borders of the Commonwealth.

The meeting participants agreed on most issues related to the development of multilateral cooperation within the CIS.
