8 new documents on cooperation signed between Tajikistan and Japan

Eight new cooperation documents were signed based on the results of official meetings and negotiations between Tajikistan and Japan, as follows:

1. Joint Statement on Partnership between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan.

2. An agreement on the exchange of memoranda on the project "Rehabilitation of the drinking water to Panj district, Khatlon Region" (Phase 2)

3. The Grant Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the implementation of the project "Rehabilitation of the drinking water toPanj district, Khatlon Region" (Phase 2)

4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Japan on economic and scientific-technical cooperation

5. Joint Declaration on Cooperation between the Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan on the exchange of information in the sphere of combating the legalization of proceeds from crime and terrorist financing and the Financial Intelligence Centre of the National Public Safety Commission of Japan.

6. Agreement on the exchange of memoranda between the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Government of Japan for a project to improve management of locust control.

7. Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on the implementation of the project to improve management of locust control.

 8. Agreement on cooperation and scientific exchange between the Tajik Institute of Languages and the Japan’s University of Tsukuba.

During the press conference, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister Abe praised the results of official meetings and negotiations as well as prospects of development of relations between the two countries.
