On the evening of 28 September, at the UN Headquarters in New York City, the President of Tajikistan met the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, General Praut Chan-ocha.
"Tajikistan is in favor of further development of relations and has optimistic outlook to prospects of its ties with Thailand", - said Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of conversation.
Heads of states considered the issues related to the development of friendly relations and beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the spheres of politics, economy, trade, investment, and humanitarian area, and paid much attention to the subjects of political cooperation in the region of Asia and on the international scene.
The sides expressed satisfaction over the current state of warm and sincere relations between Tajikistan and Thailand, and stressed the need in the fruitful implementation of important cooperation documents in the domains of trade, economy, science and technology, tourism, and attraction of investments, signed during the official visit of President of Tajikistan to Thailand in May 2013 and official visit of the Prime Minister of Thailand in August 2013 to Dushanbe.
The interlocutors described the existence of many other spheres of cooperation, such as the production of agricultural and food products, processing and transport of sugar, rice and development of tourism, hotel service as a demonstration of good opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation of the two friendly countries.
